Our Learn to Sew 101 Course is a 6-week beginner-friendly course perfect for anyone ready to start their sewing journey. Each week you’ll enjoy 2.5 hours of hands-on sewing, learning essential skills and techniques while making practical, stylish projects you’ll love to take home.

Machines, equipment and fabric is provided but you’re more than welcome to bring your own machine if you’d like to get to know it better. We keep the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable with tea, coffee and cold drinks, plus a notebook and pen so you can jot down tips, tricks, and inspiration as you go.

By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident using a sewing machine, threading it with ease, sewing seams, finishing edges, and building your skills step by step through achieveable projects. As a final milestone, you’ll sew your very own classic tee - the perfect way to put everything you’ve learned into practice. Best of all, you’ll walk away with a set of projects you’ve made yourself, a solid foundation of skills and the confidence to keep building on them.

Week by Week Breakdown:

1: Introduction to Sewing - Project: Coasters

2: Seams and Hems - Project: Tote Bag

3: Zips - Project: Zipper Pouch

4: Basic Garment Construction - Classic Tee (with bias binding)

5: Basic Garment Construction Continued

This ‘No Pattern Skirt’ course (3 weeks) follows on from ‘Learn to Sew 101’. Each week for 2.5 hrs, you’ll be guided through measuring, calculating, cutting and sewing yourself an ‘A-line skirt’, all tailored to your body measurements, no patterns needed!

This course requires sewing skills and understanding covered in the ‘Learn to Sew 101’ course. If you haven’t completed this, but sewn before and are unsure if this is right for you, get in touch via the contact form.

Depending on your skill level, you’ll have the option to add features like pockets, ties, French seams, top stitching etc.

For this project it is recommended you source and bring along your own fabric. We are all different, so this means you will love your fabric! When you book you will receive a guide to choosing the right fabric for your skirt. As always you're always welcome to bring along your own machine if prefer.
