Christmas Sewing Workshops
for Kids: aged 8 - 16
A little Christmas magic for the kids - and a few free hours for you!

Our School Holiday Christmas Workshops introduce kids to the wonderful world of festive sewing in a structured and supportive environment. These beginner-friendly workshops cover the basics - from threading the machine to sewing achievable projects. ‘Getting Started’ is about learning how to thread and use the machine safely while sewing a simple project. ‘Master the Basics’ is building on their skills to sew other projects while learning new techniques. Led by a trained primary school teacher and a skilled assistant, you can be sure that your child will have a memorable workshop filled with loads of learning AND a finished project.
If your child has never sewn before then ‘Getting Started’ is a must, after that, they can sign up for any of the other kids workshops in any school holidays.
Included: All fabric, tools and equipment, as well as a hot chocolate and a snack from one of our local cafes.
Day by Day Breakdown
Thursday 18th Dec:
Getting Started - Christmas Tree Cushions
If your child is new to sewing then this day is a MUST! Your child will be introduced to the world of sewing. They will get hands-on experience learning to thread and sew basic stitches on the sewing machine. By the end of the morning, they will have sewn and stuffed their own Christmas cushion.
Friday 19th Dec:
Master the Basics - Decorations/Bunting
This is all about building on their skills to master curved and straight lines. By the end of the morning they will have cut and sewn together their own Christmas bunting or individual decorations.
Monday 22nd Dec:
Master Your Gifting - Personalised Keyring Charms
Learn how to sew one charm and then sew as many as you can. By the end of the morning you will have plenty of handmade gifts for family and friends.
Tuesday 23rd Dec:
Master the Basics - Christmas Stocking
Master the Basics is about using a simple pattern and learning how it fits together to sew a stocking with a lining and fluff. By the end of the morning they will have sewn their very own Christmas Stocking.
Sew Stockings Together - Adult/Child Duo
Saturday 29th November, 10am–12:30pm
$80 per adult/child duo
Level: Beginner friendly
Make it a festive memory to remember! In this workshop, an adult and child team up to sew their very own Christmas stockings. Together, you’ll learn simple sewing skills and enjoy some creative time side by side.
We’ll provide all the machines, equipment, and guidance - you just bring your Christmas spirit! Perfect for parents/grandparents/caregivers and a fun way to create something special together.
Hand Stitched Decorations - Adult/Child Duo
Saturday 13th December, 10am - 12:30pm
$70 per adult/child duo
Level: Beginner friendly
In this workshop, an adult and child will work side by side to hand-sew their own Christmas decorations, displayed beautifully in an embroidery hoop.
You’ll learn simple hand-stitching techniques, add festive details, and take home a handmade keepsake to treasure each year. All materials and guidance are provided, just enjoy some quality time together.
