    • Learn new techniques

    • Complete more detailed projects

A simple activity will be available while everyone arrives.

    Welcome & Introductions:

Children will be introduced to the instructors and shown around the workshop, including where the toilets are located.

We will play some simple games to get to know each other and our equipment we’ll be using in the workshop.

    Learning Session:

Depending on the workshop, this may include:

If the weather is nice, we sometimes sit outside on the steps at Victoria on the River. If it is wet or cold, we will sit on the benches outside the workshop down The Riverbank Lane.

    Sewing Time:

Children continue working on their projects with support from the instructors.

Depending on the workshop, this may include sewing, cutting, stuffing etc.

    12:30pm Pick-Up & Sign-Out:

Please arrive at the end of the session to sign your child out. We always aim to have all projects finished by the end of the workshop. However, in some cases some children may need every last minute. If you need to leave quickly, please make this known so we can prioritise helping your child finish up as smoothly as possible.

  • Please make sure your child brings:

    • A drink bottle

    • Morning tea if they prefer not to have the snack provided, or if they have particular food allergies

    • Warm clothing on chilly days

We have a heater in the workshop, but it can still feel a little cool at times.

  • Parents are welcome to stay and help their child settle in, stay for the entire workshop or drop off and return at pick-up time.

If you stay and your child is comfortable, you’re also welcome to step out for a coffee or pop in and out if needed.

  • Photos are sometimes taken during workshops for social media and promotional purposes.

If you do not want your child photographed, please indicate this at the time of booking, you will also be asked again on the sign-in sheet when you arrive.

  • The toilets are located outside the workshop and are shared facilities used by all of The Riverbank Lane customers.

The bathrooms are secure and accessed by a keypad code, which will be provided to the children during the workshop.

The main toilet door is visible from the workshop, allowing instructors to easily monitor when children leave and return.

Children will be shown where the toilets are at the start of the session and how to use the key code. For safety, we ensure children go with a partner.

  • All Sip & Sew Kids Workshops are led by a fully qualified Primary School teacher, with some also being supported by a skilled assistant.

  • If you have any questions before booking or before the workshop itself, please feel free to contact us through the contact form linked at the bottom of our website.
