Week 1: Tuesday 7th April - Friday 10th April

Week 2: Monday 13th April - Friday 17th April

Our School Holiday Programme Workshops introduce kids to the wonderful world of sewing in a structured and supportive environment. These kid-friendly workshops cover the basics - from threading the machine to sewing achievable projects.

Sew Curious’ is for the newbies to learn how to thread and use the machine safely, while sewing a simple project. If your child has never sewn before, a ‘Sew Curious’ workshop is still a must, even if they’ve sewn before, they will learn how the workshop is organised and run.

‘Sew Confident’ is the next step and for those kids who are ready to build their confidence and develop their sewing skills.

Sew Skilled’ is for our advanced sewers to master specific skills by sewing more complex projects.

These workshops are always led by a trained/registered primary school teacher, and sometimes a skilled assistant as well. You can be sure that your child will leave feeling successful and filled with loads of learning AND a finished project!

Included: All fabric, tools and equipment, as well as a hot chocolate and a snack from one of our local cafes.

Need help deciding which workshops suit your child? Here’s our new ‘skill level’ system.

Our kids workshops are designed to grow sewing skills step-by-step. Choose the level that best suits your child’s experience.

‘Sew Curious’ (Beginner):

2-3 workshops at this level is recommended.

No experience needed.

Perfect for children who are new to sewing or have never independently used a sewing machine before.

In this level children will:

  • Be introduced to how the workshop is run

  • Learn how to safely use the equipment, including the sewing machine

  • Practice basic sewing skills

  • Complete simple beginner-friendly projects

‘Sew Confident’ (Intermediate):

Multiple workshops at this level is recommended and very valuable - the more time at the machine the better.

For children who have attended ‘Sew Curious’ workshops before or who can independently use a sewing machine and are ready to build their skills.

In this level children will:

  • Improve sewing accuracy and confidence

  • Learn new techniques

  • Complete more detailed projects

‘Sew Skilled’ (Advanced):

For confident young sewers ready to tackle more labour intensive projects.

In this level children will:

  • Work on more complex designs

  • Develop attention to detail

  • Learn techniques used in advanced sewing projects
